Agenda

The conference will be held between Tuesday 5, September and Wednesday 6, September at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad. The conference will cover topics including "Increasing autonomy in weapons systems" and "Responding to the challenges autonomous weapons systems pose to global peace, security, and international law".

Concept note

It is a critical moment in the ongoing diplomatic discussions on autonomous weapons systems (AWS), and the Caribbean Community can play a vital leadership role in advancing international law to protect humanity and safeguard against these dangers. This CARICOM conference is a forum in which the Caribbean can better understand the human impacts of AWS and formulate a joint position ahead of larger discussions at October's UNGA First Committee meeting.
